Birthday party and reception, Saturday, March 3rd, 12noon to 8pm.
Friday, March 2nd, marks the 108th Birthday of Theodor 'Dr. Seuss' Geisel.
Join us on Saturday March 3rd from 12 noon to 8pm as we throw a Seuss Birthday Celebration.
The gallery is getting decked out Seuss style and so are we. Come dressed in your best Seuss themed attire and win a Seussational prize.
Oh, the Places You'll Go! Scholarship Art Exhibition
Ann Jackson Gallery presents a Dr. Seuss art exhibition featuring new works from the collection along with original artworks from local and regional finalists in the Oh, the Places You’ll Go! College Scholarship Challenge, co-sponsored by Chase Art Companies, Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Random House Children’s Books. This is the first year that finalists’ artworks will be exhibited in fine art galleries, with Ann Jackson Gallery being one of only 15 galleries chosen nationwide to participate. The public is invited to visit the gallery to view the collection and vote for personal favorites. Entry is free.
The Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Scholarship will award one 2012 graduating high school senior $10,000 toward post-secondary education. The first and second runners-up will receive limited edition artworks from The Art of Dr. Seuss collection, now on exhibit at the gallery. Applicants were asked to create a Seuss-inspired artwork based on Dr. Seuss’s perennial bestselling book Oh, the Places You’ll Go!
Internationally renowned artist and pop culture icon, Peter Max and Audrey Geisel (Mrs. Dr. Seuss) will lead the all-star panel of judges to select the $10,000 winner this April.
“Congratulations! Today is your day. You’re off to Great Places. You’re off and away!”
